Now over a quarter of the world’s bonds trade at a negative interest rate. It’s not just government bonds. Almost $1 trillion of corporate bonds now trade at negative yields. 42% are Japanese government bonds. German bonds get a lot of attention but they run a surplus, which means less of a supply. France actually has a higher supply of negative yielders.
